BMW M240i Long Term Test Review: Shining On; Comfortable and Classy

There is nothing better than getting a driver's hands on a Sapphire Black BMW M240i Convertible. The car spells wonder and the most exciting thing that one can cherish about this car is to drive free with its open-top.

However, that is just one feature to enjoy and the car has much more than just being a drive with the roof down. The machine is splendid to drive. It feels like a regular coupe with the canvas up. The only difference is that there will be a touch of extra wind noise from the hood.

The automatic model costs around $43,746.67 (£40,465) and is fairly well loaded. The options on the car include the Professional Media Package ($973 or £900) and Adaptive M Sport Suspension ($557 or £515.) It also gives the luxury of heated front seats, reported Auto Express.

The machine drives its power from a 335bhp 3.0-litre straight-six engine. To add on, a twin-scroll turbo delivers 500Nm of torque. This is slightly better than the M235i. The car also has an eight-speed auto box with shift paddles on the wheel. It can zoom from 0-62mph time to just 4.7 seconds. It also boosts the economy to 38.2mpg. It is not just all this. The car is very efficient. It sometimes gives a figure of 32.1mpg, reported Car and Driver.

When it is on the move, the M240i feels quick. It emits a subtle burble from its exhaust on start-up. The suspension of the car defaults to Comfort every time the car is fired up. However, the suspension feels a little bit too soft in Comfort. In the Sport or Sport Plus settings, the rear end tightens up nicely.

If at all, one can only complain about the size of the boot in the car. This is because of the electric roof stowage. It becomes more cramped with the $281 (£260) optional wind deflector stowed in the luggage bay.
