Apple rumors seem to come out of nowhere everyday as all tech experts want to be the one known for breaking the news about the latest Apple product. The newest one however, which comes from Japan, claims to know the exact date when Apple's highly anticipated iPhone 5S will be released.
A new report released by Japanese blog Mactakara claims that the iPhone 5S will not only be out this summer, but will be released on exactly June 20.
This would seemingly indicate that early predictions from experts like Jefferies analyst Peter Misek, who said back in Dec. 2012 that the new iPhone would be released in June, were right all along.
Misek also claimed that one way or another Apple would be breaking their yearly release cycle even if the phone came out in August.
Ming-Chi Kuo, a KGI securities analyst, also predicted in a recent report that the iPhone 5 would be released in June with Apple's next operating system, iOS 7.
This isn't too shocking as some rumors have speculated Apple would be releasing the new phone a little early to compete with other devices like the Samsung Galaxy S4. The website also claims a new handset will go on sale no later than early July if something happens to prevent the June release according to Mactakara.
If a recent report by KGI Securities is correct, the iPhone 5S will have features like a faster A7 application processor (28nm), in-cell touch technology, fingerprint reader and 4-inch display with a pixel density of 326 ppi.
With a thickness of 7.6 mm, the new phone will be smaller than the current iPhone 5, which is 8.2 mm.. It will also be a lot lighter than the existing model, weighing a reported 112 grams compared to 130 grams for the iPhone 5.
If the phone is released on June 20, it will be available to the public less than a year since the iPhone 5 was released.
The first iPhone, the iPhone 3Gm the 3GS and the iPhone 4 were all released in either June or July according to the International Business Times. The company ended that however when they released the iPhone 4S and 5 during fall months.
The longer cycle between phones had a negative affect on sales, which actually dropped from a then record 20 million in the quarter ending in June 2011 to just 17 million in the Sept. that year according to Forbes.
