"Call of Duty" 2017 is going back to its roots. Leaked photos have emerged suggesting that the Sledgehammer Game will be returning to its World War II setting.

There are promotional images and steel book design showed that its characters dressed in World War II clothing and holding weapons, coming from that era. However, this does not come as a surprise for gamers.

According to IGN, "Call of Duty" 2017 may have the war-torn setting. Even though, there has been no official reports regarding this matter Sledgehammer has been posting teasing gamers about the name game.

There were tweets suggesting that the new game will be set in war-torn London. It could also be remembered that they tweeted images of old engine, probably a steam engine on New Year's Day.

It was an interactive tweet that is brought to life when the clock turns to 2017. There was an old chime suggesting that it came from London's Big Ben, reported Express.

It could be remembered that fans have been lobbying for the return of its original World War II Setting for quite a long time now. Now, it seems like Sledgehammer has answered this plea. Glen Schofield, Sledgehammer Head, has been posting teasers on "Call of Duty" 2017. Sadly, as much as he wants to reveal details regarding the game he can't because his hands are tied.

"There's nothing I can say about the game except there are boots and ground and I guess some roots," Schofield tweeted. "I hope I can talk soon or I may implode." Glen Schofield also teased that they might have already set the date on the release date for "Call of Duty" 2017. He even joked that when they were setting the date on the release date he did not hear it because he sneezed.

So far there has been no official release date for the "Call of Duty" 2017. However, it is certain that it will be released on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
