Lamborghini Urus may not be the fastest and the car manufacturer is perfectly fine with that. Lamborghini doesn't have any plans for the crossover to be the fastest of its kind anyway. Attempts to break lap record is futile.
According to Car Scoops, Lamborghini has attained impressive record at the Nurburgring lap because of its Huracan Performante and is fine with it. It seems that Lamborghini may just bask in the glory of its Huracan and may go easy on Urus instead.
During the launch of Aventador S in Australia early this month, Andrea Baldi, the Asia-Pacific Chief said that the Urus will also have a target of delivering impressive off-roading capabilities. Baldi continued on by saying that Nurburgring is for the best and fastest, and the Urus has a different concept altogether.
That makes a lot of sense especially that Lamborghini Urus is not built for speed. As the Asia-Pacific Chief suggested, it may be for serious off-roading and not for speed. Off-roaders are insanely powerful but are not created to zoom down the highway faster than the speed of sound.
As Lamborghini is still continuously praised because of the Huracan's performance and record, the Lamborghini Urus will comfortably sit on the sidelines as speed is not its priority. It won't be long though as it goes neck-and-neck against the Raptor, the soon-to-be-released Bronco, and even the Wrangler Rubicon.
As added by Car Buzz, some industry experts, however, find this unusual rather than amused. Lamborghini has been synonymous on adrenaline, octane, and insane record-breaking performance. But then, Urus is a crossover SUV. With its sheer size, it may not be able to catch up with the likes of Huracan. However, if speed is the real issue, it may be one of the fastest among its class but not enough to set any record.
The Lamborghini Urus is more like a luxury SUV with an impressively powerful engine and striking design. It may not be the fastest, nor will it ever hold any record at Nurburgring, but it is still one solid SUV that may easily beat the rest of its competition in the same category.
