The 2018 Audi R8 e-Tron was made up to seem like a big deal when it was introduced at the Geneva Motor Show last year. For some reason, Audi never really looked like it wanted to sell the car.

According to the report from Car and Driver, Audi could have built more of the e-Tron R8, but apparently, have stopped at a production run of "Fewer than 100" for some reason. When Audi went back to the drawing board under the newly promoted Chief, Ulrich Hackenberg, there were upgrades added to the battery technology which made the R8 e-Tron more viable.

Audi's handling of the car is curious considering all of the Volkswagen Auto Group is making a significant shift toward electric vehicles soon, with Audi itself reportedly introducing two new electric models by 2018. Either way, the e-Tron is an incredibly beautiful electric supercar capable of 456 horsepower and range of around 280 miles.

The 2018 Audi R8 e-Tron was inspired in no small part by the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Coup Electric Drive. A battery powered super sports car that was no longer successful. Unlike the Audi, the SLS AMG Coupe Electric Drive made it to the market with four electric motors and was rated at 740 horsepower.

The 2018 Audi R8 e-Tron has aero-centered tiers, repaired and little rear lip spoiler and side to side sterling silver garnishes on the finish. It is expected that the car is going to be more shaped than the earlier model which means it would be sharper and sleek. In the front of the car, there is a noticeable feature which is a flow navigation with a few components produced from carbon-fiber elements.

As of now, there is no available price for the said model. However, it is said to come with a price close to the prior model.
