A prototype of the 2018 Bentley Continental GT was recently spotted doing test drives. The prototype appears to be free of camouflage covers, but keen-eyed observers have noticed an extra layer of disguise on the car's front and rear fenders.

No one is really sure as to what Bentley is covering on those ends. The bottom section of the car's hood and its front bumper appeared to be covered by a piece of fabric. The same camouflage was used on the car's bumper in order to hide its new design.

Unlike other prototypes which are usually covered in abstract camouflage to hide their new features, the 2018 Bentley Continental GT sports a fabric similar to its body paint. While abstract design usually attracts attention, using a body paint camouflage makes the car look like ordinary.

One noticeable feature that was spotted by observers is the new headlight and taillight design. According to Motor1, from what it looks, it appears that the design was taken out of the EXP 10 Speed 6 Concept, and it is impressive.

The prototype had a license plate, and some have immediately checked it with the United Kingdom's Driver Vehicle and Licensing Agency. A quick search revealed that the 2018 Bentley Continental GT have a massive engine with 5998cc displacement. Many believe that this is the old bi-turbo W12 6.0-liter engine which powers the outgoing Continental model. Many were a bit disappointed to know that as it is widely expected that the new Continental will have the same engine as the new Bentayga.

Bentley is expected to take the wraps off of the 2018 Continental GT at this year's Frankfurt Motor Show which is expected to open its doors in September. A hybrid V6 version and a V8 model are also expected to be released soon.
