Plaxico Burress License Suspended By Florida DMV For Failing To Pay Injured Woman $125,000 (VIDEO)

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Plaxico Burress can no longer drive a motor vehicle, at least until he pays a hefty fine according to TMZ.

The Florida Department of Motor Vehicles suspended Burress' license on Monday after not paying $125,000 in damages to a woman who was hurt in a crash involving Burress.

Unable to pay Alise Smith, who sued Burress claiming he caused a car crash which injured her neck and back, the Florida DMV had little choice but to punish Burress.

Burress was also uninsured at the time according to TMZ.

Burress, who recently resigned with the Steelers for the 2013 season, will now have to find rides to games and practices unless he is able to pay the fee or successfully challenge the suspension. The former Giant has had some luck in the past when it comes to getting out of fines so it's hard to predict how this one will wind up.

In Nov. 2012 Burress was able to get out of a hefty speeding ticket by proving the police officer who pulled him over wrote down the wrong law on the ticket. He was reportedly going 125 mph at the time in his 2012 Ferrari before being pulled over according to TMZ.

The receiver was going 70 mph over the speed limit, causing the police cruiser to pull him over and give him a ticket. Burress' lawyer His lawyer Bradord Cohen proved to a judge on Tuesday that the police officer wrote the wrong law down on Burress' copy of the ticket.

Despite the officer correcting the mistake on his own copy of the ticket, the judge ruled that the case had to be thrown out on a technicality thus allowing Burress to escape with no punishment.

Burress is also famous for bringing a gun to a nightclub in 2008 where he accidentally shot himself in the thigh. He received a two year prison term for the occurrence and served 20 months in jail. Overall the ruling kept him out of the NFL for two years until he signed with the New York Jets in 2011.
