The 2017 Land Rover Discovery has been greatly improved. The new Discovery is so versatile it can be your family car, off-roader or luxury cruiser.
The 2017 Land Rover Discovery has been redesigned to move forward towards the upscale market. The tough boxy personality has been redefined into more rounded and sassy look. Moreover, the front design has acquired the brand's style which highly resembles the Discovery Sport in a smaller version.
Aside from the outward redesign, much has improved underneath as well. The 2017 Land Rover Discovery now sports a monocoque design in aluminum chassis and has let go of the heavy frame. The new Discovery now weighs 480 kg less than the previous model's weight.
Furthermore, the new Discovery is coming out equipped with integral-link rear suspension, the brand's Terrain Response system, a powerful 900mm wading depth and a full spare wheel. The automaker claims this is now the most reliable off-roader model they have so far.
In terms of performance, the fifth generation Discovery has greatly improved its off-road driving. Greater agility is now visible on curved roads as a result of the reduced weight.
In addition, steering is now close to car-like performance and is now more accurate in its responses. AutoExpress further notes that the new model provides extremely comfortable ride except for minimal jitters over uncontrollable grounds.
In another review, the 2017 Land Rover Discovery will still have the low-range transfer gearbox and the high-tech electronic "terrain response" traction and stability control systems.
With regard to space, the new SUV is reportedly small with shortage for leg room. The long-legged front passengers will not have enough leg room. However, the rear passengers will enjoy the spacious leg room contrary to the front space, AutoCar has noted.
Meanwhile, the new Discovery has just been awarded with the maximum 5 star by EuroNCAP for its exemplary safety features. Land Rover took to its official Twitter account the announcement of this award.
The 2017 Land Rover Discovery is set to be delivered in spring. It is expected to be released with almost $10,000 (£8,000) price tag.
