The South Korean brand, Hyundai, has added some more variation to its seven-seat family SUV range. The new model follows the success of last year’s Santa Fe 30 Special Edition version of the seven-seat large SUV that was limited to 300 units.
As reported by Drive, Hyundai has effectively made the limited Santa Fe 30 edition, a permanent member of the Santa Fe family. The new Santa Fe Active X comes with a 3.3-liter V6 petrol engine that produces 266 horsepower and 235 pound-feet of torque and is paired to a six-speed automatic transmission.
Santa Fe Active X is the only model with front-wheel drive, which makes it the most road-biased Santa Fe.
On the outside, the Active X comes with dark gray 19-inch allow wheels, rear privacy glass, chrome door handles, roof rails, front and rear fog lights, rain sensing wipers, auto headlights, and heated wing mirrors.
On the inside, however, the Santa Fe Active X is equipped with a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, heated front seats, leather steering wheel, tire pressure monitoring and a cooled glove compartment.
According to Car Advice, the Santa Fe Active X wears a five-star ANCAP safety rating. The car comes standard with seven airbags, traction control, ABS, stability control, electronic brakeforce distribution, hill-start assist, brake assist, rearview camera with dynamic guidelines, and rear parking sensors.
At the international launch day of the new i30 hatch, Hyundai Australia’s CEO, Scott Grant, told the media that the V6 petrol engine would make a permanent return to the Santa Fe line-up in Australia following the success of the V6-powered limited-run Santa Fe 30 Special Edition. Santa Fe Active X is now available from $40,990 which includes Hyundai’s five-year unlimited kilometer warranty with lifetime capped-price servicing. At this price point, Santa Fe Active X slides in between the base all-wheel drive, 2.4-liter petrol powered Active manual and Active auto variants.
