The 2017 Honda CR-V has recently earned the Top Safety Pick+ award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The front crash prevention system of the crossover gained much applause.

The Top Safety Pick+ award is the highest honors the organization rewards to deserving vehicle which can satisfactorily pass the evaluation on crash scores, headlights and front crash prevention system. To qualify for the highest honor of being the Top Safety Pic+, the model should have earned the "Acceptable" score in the headlights category, a "Good" score on the small overlap front, and the "Superior" score in the front crash prevention test.

The new CR-V has impressively earned the required scores in all the categories. In terms of front crash prevention category, the 2017 Honda CR-V earned the "Superior" score, which is the highest among the other candidates, for being able to avoid 12- and 25-mph collisions.

Furthermore, the 2017 Honda CR-V has surpassed the other candidates by earning a Good score on the crash tests conducted by the IIHS such as the moderate overlap front, small overlap front, head restraint tests, and roof strength. The award is noteworthy that the new CR-V has also gained a Good score even on the challenging small overlap test.

In addition, the optional LED headlights of the new CR-V has nabbed the rating of "Acceptable." Whereas, CR-V models with the standard halogen headlights gained a "Marginal" rating.

The 2017 Honda CR-V has outstanding safety and driver assistance features. The new crossover also has adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist and road departure mitigation features.
