"Dirt 4" promises to bring forth more challenging gameplay to enthusiasts as the version released back in 2015 did not do so well. Critics did not have a lot of good words to say about their experience with "Dirt Rally" and this latest version is set to change all that. However, will Codemasters be able to live up to its promise?
According to Game Spot, the game begins by asking the player if they would want to have fun or be challenged. With this, gamers have either the Normal Mode or the Simulation Mode to choose from. These modes will apparently test the skills of the players by using anti-lock braking, traction control, and stability control.
For the Normal Mode, players will be treated with the normal struggles of getting into a rally car or an off-roader. Players will experience how it is like to control weight shift, especially on loose surface. Remember that this mode is for the fun experience of it all, however, it is still known to be tricky. Even if the car's handling may be softer or little more forgiving, spinning out of control is still a possibility and requires mastery to have it perfected.
The Simulation Mode is when it becomes even more challenging and trickier as assists are turned off by default. The car's handling can become stiffer and slower. Simulation Mode is "Dirt Rally" but better in terms of more improvements as Clive Moody, senior executive producer of Codemasters said. He was mum about the improvements but is quick to mention and highlight the latest feature called "Your Stage" which is a track generation tool.
Your Stage enables the players to pick a location and adjust the challenge and complexity of level of the track. "Dirt 4" then responds by creating a new, procedurally-generated track to be played. This alleviates boredom and players immediately getting used to the tracks.
As added by Trusted Reviews, "Dirt 4" will be out on June 9, 2017 and will be available on PS 4, Xbox One, and PC. Codemasters have not released information linking the game to a possible VR availability.
The game also will give the players a tour in some of the most notable places the world over. "Dirt 4" will feature rally locations in Spain, Michigan, Wales, Sweden, and Australia. It certainly promises better experience altogether as compared to "Dirt Rally."
