When it comes to pickup trucks, there are several brands to choice from and each of these brands offer a ton of choices. Japanese automaker Nissan have carved its name into this particular market and its latest offering, the 2017 Nissan Titan, is a testament to the company's commitment to developing high-performance pickup trucks.

Compared to its close competitors from Ford, Ram, Chevrolet and GMC, the Nissan Titan have been lagging behind in terms of sales output in the last 10 years. However, this does not necessarily mean that the truck is worthless.

The redesigned 2017 Nissan Titan have seen quite a surge in sales for the first few months of this year. Nissan was able to release 3,000 units in January alone. That is three times the number of units sold in January 2016.

The 2017 Titan comes in five trim levels: S, SV, Pro 4X, SL, and Platinum Reserve. Each has different upgrades that the others, and costs differently as well.

The standard Titan comes equipped with a 5.6-liter Endurance V8 engine mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission. Nissan said that a V6 variant is on the way as well. It is rated with 390 horsepower and 394lb-ft of max torque.

The redesigned 2017 Titan sports a somewhat reduced built. The new design makes it more look like a Ford F-150. Nevertheless, these changes were positively received by many in the motoring community.

In terms of towing performance, the base 2017 Titan is rated to two up to 11,270 pounds. The larger and more powerful trims can carry much more than that. According to Car and Driver, the new Titan has an EPA rating of 15mpg for city and 20mpg for highway.

The 2017 Nissan Titan 4x2 has a starting price of $29,580, according to The Car Connection. The high-end Titan Crew Cab Platinum Reserve costs $55,400 and is kitted with all the performance package upgrades.
