13-Page Suicide Note Left By Mother Who Jumped From 8-Story Building In Manhattan Holding Baby (PHOTOS/ VIDEO)

A 13-page suicide note was found left by a woman who jumped to her death this week while holding her baby in her arms according to Gawker. The baby survived the fall with only a bruised cheek as her falling body acted like a cushion when the two landed.

Cynthia Wachenheim, 44, left a note behind in which she called her final act "evil" and stated she was personally responsible for her son's serious medical condition.

Wachenheim went on to say that there were "two shameful" events that she believes caused her son to develop the condition. The first occurred when her son, only 10-months-old at the time, fell from a play set when she wasn't looking.

He also suffered a hard fall off of his bed as well, which she believed was her fault.

While friends of the family didn't think there was anything wrong with the child, but Wachenheim knew something wasn't right. She claimed that she knew he had changed because he "had grown sleepier and cried more" according to a description of the letter by The New York Times.

Wachenheim also discussed her depression and said it was hard for her to socialize with friends anymore. While weekly therapy sessions were going okay, she missed her final appointment according to The New York Daily News.

Shortly before she jumped from the apartment, Wachenheim was arguing with her husband, Hal Bacharach, who left after a while to calm down. A relative of Bacharach stated to The New York Daily News that he'll now have to live with his decision to leave the rest of his life.

"He's going through it in his head and just wishes he could go back in time," said the relative to The New York Daily News. "He wishes he'd never left. Hal has been at a loss at how to deal with this. She wouldn't take her medication. She wouldn't go to her appointments. She was basically out of control. He worried that she was sinking, but I don't think he ever saw her capable of this."

Wachenheim was on leave from her job as an associate court attorney in the Manhattan State Supreme Court system according to court officials.
