The Ford Shelby GT350 Mustang 2017 model was introduced last year following much hype. It is anticipated to still deliver high performance expected of a muscle car.
The 2017 Ford Shelby GT350. It has been 50 years since the first Mustang. Ford has been continuously wowing its loyal fanbase by upping the ante year after year. The 2017 model marks the comeback of the vehicle to the high-performance market with minor enhancements and although they are minor, they are still vital.
For the 2017 model, the Track Package which used to be optional on last year's model is now standard. The vehicle now sports an aluminum tower-to-tower structural brace and an integrated decklid spoiler. It also has engine, oil, and transmission coolers installed together with the MagneRide adjustable magnetic suspension system. These all come standard on the GT350R but did cost over US$6,000 on last year's model.
The Ford Shelby GT350 2017 model does not sport major changes in terms of styling and design. What it now has over the 2016 model are new fender badges and a side trim, a speedometer display all the way up to 160 miles per hour, a new engine cover, and a tachometer redline at 7,000 revolutions per minute versus the last model's 6,500.
The 2017 GT350 can come in two optional packages namely the Electronics Package and the Convenience Package. The former adds the Sync 3 infotainment system, a nine-speaker audio system, and voice-activated navigation. The latter on the other hand includes the same features as the Electronics Package but with power-adjustable leather seats replacing the standard manually-adjustable Recaro sport seats.
Under the hood of this Ford Mustang is a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V8 engine that is able to produce 526 horsepower at 7,500 revolutions per minute. It is able to deliver 429 pound-feet of torque at 4,750 revolutions per minute to the rear wheels with a limited slip differential. The engine is mated to a TREMEC 3160 six-speed manual transmission.
