American Horror Story Season 7 will focus on an election theme. In fact, the events of the upcoming season will begin on the night of the 2016 election. The entire season will draw inspiration from Donald Trump and Hilary Clinton who will both reportedly be represented.
The latest season of the anthological terror from Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk will begin filming soon. While it will not feature the crossover season that Murphy keeps teasing viewers about, it will focus on something interesting: the 2016 U.S. presidential election. That's a possible American horror story on two different levels! According to a report by Den of Geek!, the series was confirmed last October by John Landgraf, FX's CEO.
Something that many fans are curious about is whether or not it would directly portray Trump and Clinton. At the moment, it has not been confirmed if these characters will be included.
Murphy has revealed that they don't have a title yet but they will begin shooting in June. He believes it will be interesting for a lot of people. When asked about whether or not Trump he will be in, Murphy nonchalantly replied "maybe." Moreover, he also revealed that season 7 will be very scary.
With the possibility of Trump and Clinton being portrayed in the upcoming season of AHS, a lot of people wonder who will play them. Several fans have already expressed their desire to see series regular Kathy Bates play Trump.
Bates has decided to address all of the rumors about her playing Trump in AHS Season 7. She told The Hill via Bloody Disgusting:
I know Ryan Murphy is doing something about the election. You know, my eyes popped open when he said that. No. I don't think I'll be playing Donald Trump. You know, I'm going to leave that to Alec Baldwin. I think he's doing a smash job.
