Since its introduction, Toyota Yaris GRMN has been the talk of the town because of improvements done by the Gazoo Racing Team. Toyota's racing team included a 1.8 liter supercharged engine making the car a worthy match for Ford Fiesta.

Gazoo Racing Team head Tetsuya Tada confirmed that this car will not be the first performance-based car from Toyota. He explained that they are on the verge of creating an improved Toyota 86, which could have a supercharger that is also evident on the new Yaris GRMN.

Tada explained that a supercharger is needed to have the necessary engine and throttle response they needed. He explained that they did not focus on creating a high-powered car, that's the reason why they opted for a supercharger.

According to CarsGuide, this is part of the Toyota Yaris GRMN's engine compartment limitation. Unlike a turbocharger, a supercharger does not require that much room.

Actually, this car is a micro-car that has 1.8 liter supercharged engine that has the ability to make it over 155kW. Compared to Ford Fiesta, the Toyota Yaris GRMN can sprint from 0-62 mph in just 6 seconds.

The car has a three-door form, 17-inch BBS multi-spoke alloy wheels and a black rear that can be found at the rear hatch. It also has similar features to Toyota GT 86 that has sport seats and leather steering wheel.

The Toyota Yaris GRMN was not just created by the Gazoo Racing Team. The local team created the car's chassis and braking system, while their European counterpart created the engines and interiors of the car.

The local and European teams were also able to create thicker front anti-roll bars with shorter springs. Aside from that, they managed to create better shock absorbers, reported Auto Express.

Currently, the Japanese, German and French markets were building 100 units each of Toyota Yaris GRMN. It can be remembered that this car was first introduced at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show.
