Another Korean automobile company, Hyundai, is up to a next generation hydrogen powered cars. The 2017 Hyundai FE Fuel Cell Concept is the company's next step towards its goal of building an aero-emission hydrogen energy society.
Just early this year, Hyundai Motor Company have joined the launching of the hydrogen council at the Davos World Economic Forum. It is an opportunity act to promote development as well as commercialization of fuel cell cars as a great alternative to fossil fuel vehicles.
According to the Hyundai's Vice Chairman, Woong-Chul Yang, "Hyundai Motor has a heritage of building innovative, fuel-efficient vehicles that advance the automotive industry's environmental progress. Our FE Fuel Cell Concept is a significant evolution of our pioneering hydrogen leadership, and moves us closer to our vision for a 'Hydrogen Society', where transportation is clean, efficient and enhances the lives of our customers." The company's 2017 Hyundai FE Fuel Cell Concept is included on their eco-vehicle program along with their other environment focused cars that will be introduced in 2020.
With the company's evolution of research, development, and global evaluation programs, they've come up with the 2017 Hyundai FE Fuel Cell Concept, the fourth gen of its hydrogen fuel cell technology. Compared to the fuel cell system that is used on the Tucson ix35, the new technology is 20% lighter and 10% greater efficiency. Meanwhile, the fuel power density has an increase of 30% which boost the range of the car.
Along with the concept's eco credentials and attention to the convenience of the customers, they have featured portable battery packs. It is charged by the vehicle's energy output to provide power to the devices of the passengers.
The trunk of this 2017 Hyundai FE Fuel Cell Concept features an integrated storage with charging space for an electric scooter. It is also designed to run 800 kilometers and more between refueling. Hyundai is developing mobility solutions that would fit the future lifestyles.
