If there is one car that could possibly define off-road luxury, that car could easily be the Range Rover Velar. Although the exceptionally steep price tag of the luxury off-roader is too hefty to sway people from buying it, Range Rover's chief design officer justifies this by equating it to buying a luxury handbag.
It is true that there are a lot of capable off-road cars that can equal the Velar's performance on the road, but there is a subtle non-existence when the Velar's luxury is added into the conversation. This unique combination of comfort, utility, function, design, and luxury is what the Range Rover Velar is all about.
Just like wealthy women desire bags from Hermes or Birkin, the Range Rover Velar is also banking on this same desire for luxury. The Velar's exterior is designed by Italian Massimo Franscella, and from the first glance, the off-roader clearly defines extravagance and luxury.
In a statement acquired by Motor Trend, Range Rover head of design Gerry McGovern said, "We in design create the concept, and the engineers work hell-bent to deliver the concept as few changes as possible. Our German competition would kill for what we have with Range Rover."
The base model of the 2018 Range Rover Velar costs $50,895, although the top-of-the-line model could easily pick up a price tag upwards of $90,000. According to Motor1, watchmaker Zenith has the perfect complement to this luxury SUV, and that is in a form of an equally luxurious timepiece. Dubbed as the Zenith Chronomaster El Primero Range Rover Velar Special Edition, the watch costs $8,700 and was designed by both Zenith and Range Rover. From the design alone, it is clear that people with deep pockets will surely appreciate having one.
