Rick Springfield Arrested For ‘Accidentally’ Missing Court Date For DUI, Released The Same Day (PHOTOS/ VIDEO)

Rocker Rick Springfield was arrested Friday, Mar. 8, after he failed to show up for a court date he "didn't know about" related to a DUI probation.

The 63-year-old was arrested in May 2011 for DUI after police pulled his 1963 Corvette over for speeding on the Pacific Coast Highway according to RollingStone.com.

The singer failed sobriety tests with a blood alcohol level of 0.10 according to The Daily Mail. The legal limit in California is 0.08.

In Aug. 2012 he pleaded no contest to reckless driving with DUI conditions and a judge ordered the "Jessie's Girl" singer to attend a three-month alcohol education program. He was also ordered to pay a fine of $1,555 and was put on three years of summary probation.

The musician was released the same day after his wife brought over paperwork to the station and had the matter cleared up. He wasn't formally booked on any charges according to E! News.

"My home away from home. Lost hills sheriff station. Arrested this am on a bench warrant," he wrote in a Facebook post that included a photo of the sheriff's booking station in California.

"I didn't know that I was supposed appear in court a few weeks ago. It was to do with the old DUI charge and it's been cleared up and i am free to go," he said to his fans on Facebook. "Thought I might miss the gig tonight but I will be there and we will celebrate together."

Springfield has also lent his talents to the acting world, appearing on the U.S. soap General Hospital in the 1980's and then again in 2005 through 2008 according to IMDB.

He released a memoir about his life in 2010 where it was revealed the singer has suffered with depression for most of his adult life.
