Samsung Galaxy S4 Update: Release Coming Soon, May Feature Wireless Charging, What To Expect From New Google Android Phone (PHOTOS/ VIDEO)

Samsung's newest device, the Galaxy S4, is expected to be revealed at Radio Music Hall on March 14, and there are already plenty of rumors spreading around the internet about the new smartphone.

Nothing has been confirmed or verified by Samsung as of yet for the new smartphone, but that hasn't stopped the rumor mills from doing what they do best. Here's a list of important factors and the latest rumors to consider about the new phone.

Features:

The latest set of specs the phone could feature includes a screen that would literally be a "green screen" with energy-saving PHOLED material in its AMOLED display as reported by the International Business Times.

Another report claims that two separate types of organic light emitting diodes used to "illuminate AMOLED displays" are phosphorescent and fluorescent according to Android Authority. Fluorescent like materials are harder to produce and less energy efficient, but the report states they last "much longer" than phosphorescent. This is why Samsung is known to mix both to make what is called AMOLED displays.

The overall display set up for the new phone is expected to include "floating touch technology" that could allow people to use the phone just by directing their fingers "centimeters" above the screen of the S4. This would put an end to finger print marks if it works, and the feature has already successfully been implemented in the Sony Xperia Sola smartphone, which was released last May. The Galaxy Note 2 also has a similar feature according to International Business Times.

Wireless charging is another feature that seems to be heating up around the internet for the new phone. Companies that have added wireless charging lately include Nokia, Motorola Mobility and Sony Mobile. Apple is expected to include it in a new device as early as this year as well, possibly implementing the new feature on the iPhone 5S.

Carriers:

The S3 was made available to five of the largest carriers last year in the U.S., including AT&T, U.S. Cellular, Sprint, Verizon, and T-Mobile. This type of launch helped the phone become the top-selling device for many months in 2012.

Only two carriers have been confirmed for the S4 as of yet however, including AT&T and Verizon. This doesn't mean others won't be added, but there's no word as of when the others plan on reaching an agreement with Samsung according to GottaBeMobile.com.

Release Date:

A release date hasn't been confirmed by Verizon or AT&T yet, but once the rest of the carriers are announced, then you can expect to start hearing release dates in the U.S. If history means anything, the phones won't be released at the same time as well.

The current rumors seem to indicate that a release will come in the U.S. around May or June. This has not been confirmed as of yet however. The Galaxy S3 was released in last June.

Pricing:

Like the release date, a price has also yet to be set for the new Samsung device as they'll most likely reveal all that information on Mar. 14. Most media outlets seem convinced that the price will be around the average price for the 16GB S3, which goes for approximately $199.99. This is the same price that Apple set for the iPhone 5 as well.
