South Koran tech giant Samsung is expected to debut its upcoming flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus, within the next two weeks. However, prior to the official launch of the smartphones, a handful of photos were leaked online giving the tech community a close glimpse of what the two smartphones will actually look like.
The photos revealed the stunning new design of the Samsung Galaxy S8, and its bigger sibling, the Galaxy S8 Plus. Both models sport the rumored curved display with an impressive body-to-screen ration. The two smartphones have an almost bezel-less display design, according to BGR.
The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus will pick up the pieces brought about by the exploding Note 7 last year which left Samsung's reputation in tatters. More than 2.5 million Note 7 devices were recalled and cost Samsung billions of dollars in compensation.
Nevertheless, the two upcoming Galaxy devices are expected to redeem not only Samsung's reputation but also the company's market share which it had lost to its closest rival Apple, as well as stiff competitors in the Android market. Samsung is keen to regain its status as a premier smartphone company, and its hopes are hanging on the success of the S8 and the S8 Plus.
Samsung made some major design changes with the upcoming Galaxy devices. Based on the leaked photos, the fingerprint scanner will be relocated on the rear part of the smartphones, according to The Daily Mail. It is also widely speculated that the two smartphones will have an integrated iris scanner.
The Galaxy S8 and the S8 Plus are expected to make their official debut on March 29. The two smartphones have been making a lot of buzz since late last year as it poses a stiff head-to-head competition with the Apple iPhone 8.
