The upcoming all-electric Porsche Mission E sedan is expected to come in a handful of trims. These trims will differ in terms of power outputs and mileage with a target range of at least 500 kilometers in a single full charge.

Porsche company chairman Oliver Blume told Auto Car, "The Mission E will sit in the segment below the Panamera. It will offer a 500km (311 miles) electric range, with a 15 minute charge time."

When asked about the model range of the Porsche Mission E, Blume said that there will be more than one variant of the sedan and it will come in different power levels. Blume also hinted that the Mission E could support over-the-air options.

The exact details of how the over-the-air upgrades will work is still a bit hazy. Although Blume said that it is possible to upgrade 400bhp to a 450bhp machine over-the-air.

This is not an entirely new concept as Tesla already has this kind of remote update scheme. The 70kWh version of the Tesla Model S can be upgraded to 75kWh using a remote software, and of course for an added fee.

Once it hits showrooms, the Porsche Mission E sedan will pack the same 800V drive system which was presented way back when it was still a concept car. It includes two electric motors and a large battery pack. The sedan can deliver as much as 592-horsepower and can accelerate from zero to 62mph in just 3.5 seconds, according to Car Scoops.

The sedan is also expected to support four-wheel steering function, as well as the Porsche Torque Vectoring feature. The Porsche Mission E sedan is also expected to support wireless charging, a feature that was presented when it was still a concept car.
