2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit: Updated Interior And New Powertrains

The 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit is the Grand Cherokee family's most luxurious offering next to the top-performance SRT model. For this year, Jeep has upgraded the Summit with a tweaked front fascia, LED fog lights, grille, and richer interior options.

Under the hood, the Summit remains unchanged. Fiat Chrysler Automobile's Pentastar 3.6-liter will come standard. Jeep offers up to two optional powertrains on the Summit. For $3,795 the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 engine is available. It can produce 390 lb-ft of torque while returning a 14/22/17 mpg.

For $5,000, customers can have the 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6. The efficient diesel engine makes 240 hp and 420-lb-ft of torque while returning 21/25/24 mpg.

All engines are paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox and either rear of the four-wheel drive. Revised for the 2017 model is to make more torque down low, the V6 can produce 295 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque and an estimated 18/25/21 mpg city/highway/combined on the EPA cycle when equipped with four-wheel drive.

The biggest change is the interior, where a new fully leather-wrapped cabin option has been added to the vehicle's order sheet. Available in Ski Gray and an Indigo color scheme, the package covers the dashboard and door panels in Nappa leather and the seats in Laguna leather.

Other interior colors include Brown, Black, and Dark Sienna Brown. The vehicle also offers a lot of safety features which includes adaptive cruise control, blind-spot detection, and forward collision warning, standard lane departure warning, and an automatic parking feature.

The 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit other standard features include a suede headliner, acoustic glass, Berber floor mats, active noise cancellation, an 825-watt 19-speaker Harman/Kardon audio system, and also illuminated doorsills. Additionally, the vehicle's 20-inch polished aluminum wheels have been redesigned for 2017.

Price for the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit starts at $51,390. In addition to the fancy features mentioned above, customers can also get a height-adjustable air suspension, Jeep's full suite of active safety hardware and software, heated and cooled seats, and a panoramic sunroof.
