The Android 7.0 Nougat update was officially rolled out in the middle of last year. Just recently, however, Korean tech giant Samsung rolled the Android Nougat out to Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge smartphones in Europe.
The update is also being rolled out in other parts of the world such as to Vodafone users in Italy, Ireland, Romania, Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. Swisscom users in Switzerland are also in line to get the update.
The update comes in as an over-the-air (OTA) update and brings to eligible users new features such as advanced battery saving Doze mode to the S6 and S6 Edge as well as the split screen mode. Given that the Google Android Nougat is a fairly new OS version, it is not at all that surprising to know that users are experiencing a few issues with it. It is always best to prepare a device before proceeding with the update.
So far, three issues have been made known with Google's Android 7.0 Nougat post update. Common issues affecting users include home button lag, apps force-closing, and the Nougat firmware flash having gone wrong.
After updating an S6 or S6 Edge smartphone to Android Nougat, a user may experience lag at different points such as when using the home button to go back to the home screen from using an app. This happens due to the update being a big update which requires some time to settle into the device. One quick solution to this particular issue is by rebooting the device or clearing its cache.
One other issue users have reported is the forced closure of apps. The fix to this issue is still the same as the one for remedying lag time. A user basically just needs to reboot the phone or clear the device's cache. Another solution for this annoying issue would be to enable all permissions an app needs which may have been disabled during the update process.
The last major issue that a handful of users have experienced is encountering the "No command" or "An error has occurred while updating the device software" message on the screen. This basically happens when the update process was cut due to the device powering off unexpectedly. The only remedy for this issue would flash the firmware again via third party software.
