2017 Audi S3: A Cool Car And A Blast To Ride

The Audi's new S3 is the latest model to join the automaker's impressive sedan family. The 2017 Audi S3 might share some specs with the Volkswagen Golf R, Audi made sure that the S3 can stand out on its own when directly compared to the competition.

The 2017 Audi S3 sports a more subtle design cue compared to its bigger brother, the 2018 Audi S4. The S3 packs a more angular grille, and standard LED headlights and taillights both of which are equipped with dynamic turn signals, according to Car and Driver.

The new S3 has standard 18-inch wheels, although it can be configured with a 19-inch aluminum set. The sedan comes in two trims: the Premium Plus and the Prestige models.

On the inside, the 2017 S3 has the Audi Virtual Cockpit. It has a new LCD screen which replaces the old analog gauges. The infotainment system is also easy to operate. As expected with almost every Audi car, the cabin is quiet and comfortable. The attention to every detail, including the choice of materials and placement, are astonishing and impressive.

The 2017 Audi S3 is already impressive in both design and liveries, and Audi made sure that it packs enough power under the hood. The S3 packs a 2.0-liter direct injected and turbocharged four-cylinder engine. It is capable of delivering 292 horsepower and 280lb-feet of torque. The massive power is delivered to all four wheels through the paddle-shifted dual-clutch six-speed automatic transmission.

The 2017 Audi S3 also has an impressive set of road test records. It can accelerate from zero to 60mph in less than 5 seconds and its top speed is limited to 155mph, according to Chicago Sun Times. Technology wise, the S3 has a new pre-collision system and simulated torque vectoring system for the two front wheels.

The new S3 has a premium gasoline rating of 28mpg for highway, 21mpg for city, and 24mph combined. The 2017 Audi S3 base model costs $42,900.
