Honda will be introducing two improved Honda Clarity, a plug-in hybrid and electric version of the car, versions in the New York Auto Show. This brings Honda closer to their dream of being a green car company.
Recently, Honda released a teaser image of the two cars that looks like a five-passenger sedan that has low and wide nose design. The image also showed sleek looking LED accent lights.
According to Roadshow, the two new Honda Clarity cars will be called Clarity Plug-in Hybrid and Clarity Electric. Plug-in hybrid's electric range can run up to 40 miles after that the gas system will take over. This car will be available in all 50 US states.
The Electric will be first Honda Clarity affordable car. It is a midsize battery electric vehicle that can accommodate five people inside. Even though there has been no official details regarding this car, there were speculations that the Clarity Electic can run up to 80 miles.
It could be remembered that Honda released a new Clarity Fuel Cell Sedan in California. They decided to release it there as an answer to Californian's plea for more green cars, Auto Blog reported.
Now, they are creating more green cars for the public to use. For the Clarity Fuel Cell Sedan, Clarity Plug-in Hybrid and Clarity Electric, Honda swears to buyers that they will be spacious and will have a wonderful interior.
They will also include Honda's standard Honda Sensing safety technology and Apple Carplay. Aside from that, there will also be an Android Auto feature and the Fun-to-drive DNA feature.
The car can reportedly be enough to drive people to work without relying on the gasoline engine much. The new Honda Clarity versions are reportedly Honda's way of increasing their sales by two-thirds by 2030. Hopefully, their new cars will bring forth more green cars in the future.
