'Paul Bearer' Dies at 58: WWE Manager of The Undertaker Death Linked to Obesity (VIDEO)

William Moody, best known for his role as Paul Bearer, the spooky manager of WWE headliner The Undertaker, died Tuesday night in Mobile, Ala. at age 58.

A report from TMZ reported Moody joined the WWE in 1990 and developed a character known managing some of the more sinister characters in the wrestling entertainment business. In addition to The Undertaker, Moody's Paul Bearer managed Kane, Rick Rude, Vader and Mankind.

There are no confirmed reports of how Moody died, however TMZ speculated that his death was attributed to morbid obesity and gallbladder issues.

Moody reportedly suffered serious health problems over the past ten years.

In a dated blog post, Moody reported he weighed 525 pounds in 2003. He underwent gastric bypass surgery and eventually dropped below 300 pounds.

A statement from the WWE said "Moody made his WWE debut in 1991 as the manager of The Undertaker and went on to become a memorable part of WWE over the course of the next 20 years. Our deepest condolences go out to Moody's family, friends and fans."

Moody reportedly earned a degree in mortuary science, which inspired his Paul Bearer character.

He also used the stage name Percy Pringle III, though he was best known for his role as Paul Bearer.
