An interview with Aston Martin's CEO, Andy Palmer hinted the world of Mid-Engine Hypercars for Aston Martin. Surprising its competitors and fans, Aston Martin will head off to serious battle against the lights of Ferrari and McLaren. The F1-derived Valkyrie hypercar starts the beginning of the Mid-Engine Dynasty for Aston Martin.
A dreamer himself, Palmer opens the company's plan on creating a premium luxury and sports car segment that will place themselves ahead against other competitors. A new race of Aston Martin Supercars is about to unfold based on the Valkyrie's DNA. "The reason we're doing it is to create a halo car, but also to build DNA for a mid-engined sports car range," says Palmer in an interview with Car and Driver.
The Valkyrie itself is a proven testament to dominance against current hybrid hypercar Trinity that will battle with the lights of Mercedes-AMG Project One. According to Car Buzz, "If Aston Martin decides to go this route, it could end up building some serious Ferrari 488 GTB and McLaren 720S fighting mid-engine supercars."
Apparently, in order to achieve such plan, Aston Martin must revamp all its current aged model lineup to book more sales in all departments. Palmer and the rest of the team have hinted plans and ideas. The upcoming mid-engine Aston Martin hypercars are expected to be a direct competitor to front engine Ferrari F12 Berlinetta instead of 488 GTB. The reason behind such plan is because Palmer decides to keep the V12 as the primary source instead of the same AMG-sourced V8s.
Aston Martin's unique position in the Automotive Industry, the company could quickly expand to become a brand that can create spectacular hypercars, SUVs, and everything in between. The source stated that a higher level of market coverage is what the company needs to achieve. Well, everyone is hoping that Aston Martin succeeds in its endeavors.
