Hyundai plans to stick with the SUV vehicle that will be powered by the first hydrogen fuel-cell. The Korean automaker has been talking about the latest hydrogen-powered CUV/SUV with Future Eco (FE) Fuel Cell Concept, which will be introduced in 2018.
The Hyundai FE Fuel Concept will be showcased this week at Geneva Motor Show. The green car is a crossover with a four-door segment. Hyundai revealed that the FE Fuel Concept SUV would be a plus factor that will help the sales to bloom in the growing market of SUVs in the United Sates.
The Hyundai FE's hydrogen powertrain is 20 percent lighter and ten percent more efficient. The sedan will produce additional power from its fuel-cell stack, as noted by Green Car Reports. Based on the European test cycle, it exceeds the rated ranges of Mirai and the Clarity Fuel Cell. Mirai runs 312 miles, and the Clarity Fuel Cell is 365 miles, while the Hyundai FE Fuel Concept SUV can cover 500 miles on a single hydrogen refill.
The Hyundai FE Fuel Concept SUV's portable battery packs allow consumers to recharge while inside the vehicle, as well as the consumer's gadgets. Hyundai designers claimed the concept as the flowing and inspired by nature and water, as per Auto Express UK.
The hydrogen car will feature a water tailpipe emission, which provides zero-emission nature of a hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle. The sedan will highlight sturdy stature with the huge wheels along the corners. The FE's aerodynamic provides an efficient and clean design.
The Hyundai FE Fuel Concept's internal air humidifier recycles water emissions inside the cabin's atmosphere, which offers clean and health friendly vehicle. The battery packs enhanced the hydrogen fuel cell technology of Tucson Fuel Cell that gives 30 percent greater energy density.
The Hyundai FE Fuel Concept SUV is designed with a robust system that allows the car to run and achieve the longest distance ever obtained by a fuel cell sedan. The Hyundai Vice Chairman Dr. Woong-Chul Yang confirmed that Hyundai would launch the production by 2018.
