Microsoft Surface Pro 5 Latest Update: Release Date, Price, Features And More!

Everybody has been impatiently waiting for an official announcement of the next Surface Pro, but right now, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will not likely to surface until spring 2017. Microsoft didn't announce the device at the MWC, but there have been a few new leaks.

For its internal components, it has been speculated that the device could sport Intel's latest Kaby Lake Processor with a 16 GB random-access memory, making its performance with class. Equipped with Windows 10 operating system, it is expected that it will work seamlessly with an equally efficient processor, resulting in a powerhouse that everyone would want to have.

The Microsft Surface Pro 5 speculations also suggest that the Creators Update that comes with it will bring a lot of new features designed specifically for the new device. Things like a new specialized Game Mode with Beam, better firewalls, better privacy settings, and safer web browsing will be given in this new update.

In addition, it will be the first device to come with this update right out of the box, which sets it apart from other devices that currently in the market. The tablet PC is expected to arrive with HoloLens compatible technology.

Another speculated feature is a Surface Pen. The stylus bundled with the device will be updated so that it could have a rechargeable battery that charges wirelessly when attached to the tablet. The current Surface Pen is not rechargeable and uses an alkaline AAAA battery.

Furthermore, another speculation points out to having a 4K detachable screen, making graphics even better, especially paired with a Surface Pen. Another upgrade is the USB port. The upcoming device could be the first in the range to get a USB-C port rather than the USB 3.0 port that is used on the Pro 4.

These should be taken for now with a grain of salt as the information remains scarce. As for the release date of the Microsft Surface Pro 5, PC Advisor suggests that it could arrive by spring of this year. The base model is anticipated to start at $899, with the 4K UHD model expected to retail at around $1,599.
