The 2020 Ford Bronco and 2018 Jeep Wrangler Pickup are two of the most awaited off-roading trucks soon to be released. The operative word is "Soon," but as early as now, car enthusiasts and industry experts are very much looking forward to see both off-roading vehicles finally hit the road.
According to Car and Driver, the 2018 Jeep Wrangler Pickup not only will be facing it off with the 2020 Ford Bronco but other competitors as well such as Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Canyon, Honda Ridgeline, Nissan Frontier, and Toyota Tacoma. It is one powerful ride that almost all vehicles of its kind may well be threatened. Its 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine is not to be discounted.
The 2018 Jeep Wrangler Pickup's platform is also the star of this star off-roader. It will still be body-on-frame, however, it will be using a steel frame making more use of aluminum and plastic body panels to save weight. This is also somehow considered a resurrected version of the 80's CJ-8 Scrambler. Several factors are all rolled in to this off-roader- powerful performance, nostalgia, character, class, and bravado.
It is also expected to be retail at around $30,000 as it is made available in dealerships. The 2018 Jeep Wrangler Pickup is also expected to arrive late this year. However, this is an estimate so things may still change. This makes fans on the edge of their seats to finally have an official statement regarding its official release.
On the other hand, according to Road and Track, the 2020 Ford Bronco will receive minor front and rear styling changes to make it look different from the Ford Everest. It is also reported that different drivetrains and interiors will be made available for the US market. The upcoming Bronco will be very capable off-roader which will comfortably negotiate road conditions- whether cruising down the freeway or taking it off-roading to navigate the toughest terrains.
Ford also considers the 2018 Jeep Wrangler Pickup and the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited as the 2020 Ford Bronco's toughest competitors. Ford tackles this competition head-on as it is reported to equip the Bronco with body-on-frame construction. Front and rear axles are also expected to be spruced up as well.
Upon official release, both off-roaders will definitely make industry experts and car enthusiasts talking for a long time. The competition has already started and far from over. Experts find it hard to make a judgment as most information are from reliable sources and remain to be rumors. Both Ford and FCA only offer limited information on the two off-roaders.
For the sake of having a winner, it will have to be the 2018 Jeep Wrangler Pickup. FCA has been consistent in coming up with the best off-roaders. It holds the reputation for being able to provide the world with the most capable off-roaders ever seen and it is expected to remain that way as it resurrects the pickup. However, this may definitely change as the 2020 Ford Bronco may come with features enough to snatch the title from the Wrangler Pickup.
