OnePlus 5, OnePlus 4 Updates: ‘Never Settle’ Teaser Hints Phone’s Release Or Something Else?

OnePlus 5, or OnePlus 4 as it is known reportedly, has yet again stirred up the emotions of those waiting for the latest updates on the only formidable unit that is set to rival Apple's iPhone and Samsung's Galaxy devices. What seems like a teaser wallpaper spread like wildfire on Twitter and sparked another cryptic controversy among netizens.

Evan Blass, a pretty much bankable source of first-hand information and a mobile reported, posted an image on Twitter with OnePlus' tagline "Never Settle" with a background of dark molten lava. Other than the caption, "You know what this means, don't you?" there isn't much he revealed pointing exactly to OnePlus 5, or OnePlus 4.

So, what does this mean? Is the successor of OnePlus 4 coming in a jet black army? We have very little to go based solely on the "teased" image. But one thing is for sure. This specific wallpaper is already accessible by owners of OnePlus 3T.

And that this might not lead in fact to the massive reveal of the Chinese company's flagship device, the OnePlus 5, or OnePlus 4. But a new version of the OnePlus 3T might be on the way. By version, we mean a new color option for the unit.

PCAdvisor points out that adding weight to the new color option theory is a Tweet from Android Police's David Ruddock. He captioned his tweet: "I hear OnePlus could have a dark announcement sometime soon. That it might even be as Black as Midnight?"

Tagged in the earlier-mentioned tweet is OnePlus' co-founder Carl Pei who replied with a GIF wolves howling in the midnight. Now, this could well be a very good hint and support that theory, although we can't say for sure as these are pure speculations, for now.

So, could this really be just a new color option for OnePlus 3T or it is more than meets the eye and there is some cryptic message hidden in plain sight. Whatever the case maybe, all we could do for now is wait until the Chinese company announces their official release of their flagship device OnePlus 5 or OnePlus 4.
