Audi RS5 Gets Bolder And Bigger; Car Lighter And More Efficient

Audi RS 5 coupe stands for all that Audi is made up of. It is bold and it is very loud. The new RS design is making an entrance and the car proudly displays it.

It was reported that the new Audi is inspired from the 90 quattro IMSA GTO racers. It is 186 inches long and measures 3 inches longer than the outgoing RS 5. The bulging wheel arches pushed out more than half an inch. The single grille is wider and flatter.

The car has air intakes for the radiator and brake-system cooling. The LED headlights have tinted bezels. The car has 19- or 20-inch forged alloy rims. It has unique oval tailpipes for the exhaust, reported Auto Blog.

The coupe has black and diamond stitching in the interiors. The car has a dash-mounted shift light. The passengers can enjoy seamless connectivity to the internet via LTE and a wifi hotspot option. It has CarPlay and Android Auto, reported Auto Breaking News.

The new Audi RS 5 Coupe has the same engine as that of Porsche Panamera. It gives a very impressive 444 horsepower and 443-pound feet of torque. This is discharged from its 2.9 liters engine. The power pushes the car to give a top speed of 155-mph. It will speed the car from 0 to 62 miles in 3.9 seconds.

The car boasts of an all-wheel-drive. The power is derived from a 4.2-liter V8. The turbochargers are located inside the vee-angle of the engine. The economy is improved using centrally-mounted direct fuel injectors with a short stroke. It also boosts the power of the vehicle.

The new RS 5 is also significantly lighter despite all the turbo plumbing. It weighs 3,649 pounds. The weight is reduced with the help of carbon-fiber roof.

"The new Audi RS 5 Coupé is the gran Turismo among the RS models," Audi Sport GmbH CEO Stephan Winkelmann said. "The high-performance Coupé combines elegant aesthetics with high everyday usability. The car's V6 Biturbo has been developed from the ground up and provides significantly more performance coupled with higher efficiency," he added.
