Alpine recently revealed the 2017 Alpine A110 at the Geneva Motor Show. Fans have been waiting for this debut for years.

Fifty-five years after the original A110 was revealed, the 2017 model is finally here. Alpine announced the A110's first details on its technical components, its engine, and how well it does performance-wise.

According to Alpine, the mid-engined A110 will get a brand-new 1.8-litre turbocharged four-cycle cylinder engine. The engine can produce up to 249 brake horsepower and up to 320Nm of torque.

Using a Seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, the power is sent to the rear wheels. It is built with a lightweight aluminum platform and all-aluminium bodywork.

This lightweight aluminum bodywork makes the A110 weigh in at 1,080kg. This means it can create a power-to-weight ration of 230 brake horsepower per tonne.

This powerful combination helps the A110 go from 0-62 miles per hour in just 4.5 seconds. This is a tenth of a second faster than it's competition, the Porsche Cayman S.

The 2017 Alpine A110 top speed can go up to 155 miles per hour. As for its exterior, the car's design takes the original A110 'Berlinette's cues and curves.

Its similarity with the 2016 Alpine Vision Concept is also noticeable. It does have a slippery shape with a low drag coefficient which also features aerodynamic trickery like a flat floor and functional diffuser.

Inside, the 2017 Alpine A110 uses a blend of leather, aluminum and carbon fibre trim for the cabin. As for the driver and passenger area, a one-piece bucket seat is in place.

The cockpit design is also similar to the 2016 Alpine Vision Concept, as well as the same center console, digital instrument panel, the central infotainment screen. It also features a lot of quilted leather.

That's not all; reports suggest that a 300bhp Alpine Renaultsport model could follow the A110. As for the 2017 Alpine A110 price, Jalopnik wrote:

"Pricing seems to be about a bit more affordable than the 4C, though. The only firm figure Alpine gives is €58,500 in France for the limited edition launch special. A base Alfa 4C starts at €63,200 in the same country."
