The top three best-selling crossovers in the U.S. has bound for a remake this coming August. The incoming Subaru 2nd-Gen Crosstrek will have a rougher global platform with the better handling and buffer body kit.
During the 2017 Geneva Motor Show last Tuesday, the Subaru 2nd-Gen Crossstrek was featured with 70% more rigidity hand better chassis features. Because of the changes, the vehicle had reduced its flexibility when driving on rough terrain, reported Automotive News. Furthermore, the crossover also improved its handling when it swerves by a corner while running at higher speeds.
The Subaru 2nd-Gen Crosstrek, powered by a 2.0 four-cylinder engine that has direct fuel injection, is available with a seven-speed automatic transmission that can shift with paddles. There is also a manual transmission option, revealed brand spokesperson, Dominick Infante. Moreover, the safety features of the vehicle had also improved where it can properly evade possibilities of accidents with the help of a partnership with Fuji Heavy Industries.
In other news, CNET reported that its lift kit was also improved wherein the redesign made the interior design better-looking with a dashboard that has physical switchgear surrounding the touchscreen infotainment system. It also has a new steering wheel and a more stylish instrument panel with the electronic parking brake. On op of which, the has improved noise, vibration, and intensity compared to its predecessor.
In the European market, the engine can generate 154 hp. However, the U.S. version, incorporated into the 2017 Subaru Impreza, it could run only at 152 hp with a manual transmission and different trims. For the European version, it will have the EyeSight as a standard feature which includes autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assist, and adaptive cruise control.
