The brand new 2017 Suzuki Swift was finally showcased at the Geneva Motor Show this week. Considered as a fourth-generation vehicle, the European audience at the event were the first people to take a look at the potentially saleable car. What are the specs?

First and foremost, the vehicle was rounder compared to its predecessors. Standing almost 4 meters long, the 2017 Suzuki Swift is lighter with only 815 kilos, it has been considered as lighter than the other models in the segment. Furthermore, it runs on a longer wheelbase which made the vehicle look wider than usual. On top of which, it can cater to 265 L of luggage space, reported Auto Week.

The vehicle will be available for purchase with a choice of two versions, one running on 112 bhp and installed with a 1.0 BoosterJet three-cylinder engine while the other has the 1.2 DualJet four-cylinder engine which can generate 90 hp. The former is a hybrid version which does not have the SVHS Performance. However, the 1.2 will be 5% more efficient than the prevailing model in the market today.

In other news, NDTV reported that the latest 2017 Suzuki Swift was first introduced in the Japan market last year. However, the preview at the Geneva Motor Show was its global debut where its new character and designs were magnified. In fact, the vehicle was seen to have improved its handling and performance capacities which were sportier than its usual built. Furthermore, the new HEARTECT platform incorporated into it made the vehicle more rigid than the current version. Moreover, the HEARTECT is a distinct feature in the market such as those created by Ignis and Baleno. Therefore, more models based on this platform are expected to emanate from the automaker which would be more economical than other models of the brand.

During the Geneva Motor Show, the 2017 Suzuki Swift made its international debut as a sportier car distinct form other versions of the model. What other models will incorporate with the HEARTECT platform now that the brand revealed it to create more economical vehicles in the future?
