Audi took the stage at this year's Geneva Motor Show to unveil the new version of the company's Q8 concept car. Dubbed as the Audi Q8 Sport Concept, it is a high-performance edition of the company's upcoming flagship SUV. The car is expected to hit showrooms in 2018.

Under the hood, the Audi Q8 Sport packs a 3.0-liter V6 engine. While this might sound a bit conventional for a high-performance car, Audi have an interesting twist to it. Instead of opting for a turbo or belt-driven supercharger, the Q8 Sport's engine has an electrically-powered supercharger, according to Auto Express.

Audi did not elaborate on how the electric supercharger integrates into the Q8 Sport's engine. However, the company confirmed that the engine is rated at 476horsepower with 516lb-ft of torque. This allows the car to sprint from zero to 62mph in just 4.7 seconds. According to Auto Blog, the Audi Q8 Sport is also rated to have a top speed of 171mph.

In terms of design, the Q8 Sport has a black octagon-shaped front grille with honeycomb affair. The grille is flanked on each side by two large air intakes. At the back of the SUV is an aluminum and carbon fiber diffuser with two oval shaped exhausts.

The Q8 Sport shares a lot of design cue with the current-generation Q7. It has a tapered rear end and a sloping roofline. The car is expected to be a four-seater, but there are speculations claiming that the production version will have a five-seater option. The Audi Q8 Sport packs a 630-liter boot.

On the inside, the Audi Q8 Sport has the new 12.3-inch Virtual Cockpit infotainment system. The display is loaded with new features and a higher resolution.
