Chiron is the most modern interpretation of Bugatti’s brand. Its styling emphasizes the performance aspect of the super sports car. Bugatti has combined maximum driving performance, breath-taking beauty, and fascinating technology to create an incomparable driving experience.
According to Motor Authority, Bugatti Chiron comes with an 8.0-liter W16 engine. The engine sends power to all four wheels via a 7-speed dual clutch transmission. It has 1,480 horsepower and 1,180 pound-feet of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in under 2.5 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited, but the car can reach up to 261 mph.
On the outside, Bugatti Chiron is an evolution of the Veyron model. It has a low nose with signature grille, strong C shape along the sides, and the cut-off and open rear end. On the back, there is a retractable rear spoiler that comes up at 50 mph and adjusts depending on the need. The inside is made of the most luxurious materials such as carbon fiber, aluminum, and leather.
The Verge reported that the first three Bugatti Chiron have been shipped to the customers. They had the chance to visit the Atelier and report on the incredibly intense tests that Bugatti performs before it ships the cars. It takes five months to build one Chiron, from the first parts order to rolling the completed car out of the door. The paint shop alone requires three weeks, while the chassis assembling takes an entire week. Each vehicle goes through the same extensive test.
Once the engine is installed in the car, it is tested to 124 mph on a rolling road inside the factory. After, the cars go on a 200-mile test drive to ensure that the brakes and the suspension are working properly. All the vehicles are equipped with lots of protective elements so they can keep the body panels and the interior from being damaged.
Once the testing is done, the car goes to the paint lab where a technician spends two days polishing the entire car. Every imperfection is properly marked and repaired. Once all of these steps are finished, every manager examines the car in the light tunnel before giving a final sign off for delivery.
