A new MacBook Pro 2017 could be available for this year. In fact, new 12-inch MacBooks are even expected to enter production this month while the 13 and 15-inch models will likely begin production in July.

Recently, a lot of avid 2017 MacBook Pro enthusiasts have been veering towards the cheaper MacBook or MacBook Air. The latter two were excellent alternatives that offered almost the same functionality as the "Pro" version. In fact, a recent report by Forbes suggested that Tim Cook needs to redefine the Pro model.

Ewan Spence went on to say that Cook must understand what it means to be a Pro machine. The new device needs to be more than just gimmicks such as the Touch Bar; it needs to understand and pinpoint the exact audience that purchases the Pro.

In another report by BGR, a new and improved MacBook Pro 2017 with a bump in its specs will come this year. Hopefully, it will address the common complaint about the 16 GB limit of Apple's new notebooks.

Additionally, the company hasn't released an update in over 1,150 days. The Cupertino company really needs to focus on doing more and giving more to their loyal fans if they want to remain relevant amidst all of the new tech offerings for this year. The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will likely release soon and could very well take all of Apple's loyal "Pro" market with it.

Elsewhere, it was earlier reported that Apple Inc. is designing a new chip for future laptops. It is built using ARM-Holdings Plc. technology and is expected to work alongside an Intel processor. However, according to a report by Architosh, Apple may forego Intel and instead use an AMD Ryzen CPU for their new Apple MacBook Pro laptops. The website believes that Ryzen seems very "Apple-esque."
