The 2018 Nissan Titan Extended Cab was earlier spotted and is coming soon! The latest version looks relatively the same but has made necessary changes to its cab.

According to a report by Truck Trend, Nissan took a gradual approach to unveiling the many different versions of its Titan and Titan XD full-size pickups. The first to release was the Cummins-powered Titan XD, which was then followed by the gas-powered XD, then the 1/2-tonne Titan. Finally, a regular cab variant of the Titan and XD were released. Most recently, the third and final cab variation for the Japanese automaker's pickup line is here and it's called the extended or "King Cab."

In a bid to simplify logistics, Nissan decided not to make every bed configuration available to every cab configuration. Instead of retaining the size of the bed the same, they decided to make it correspond to how large the cabin is. This way the wheelbase of the truck ends up being the same no matter what.

This makes the Japanese automaker's manufacturing and research process cheaper. Crew-cab models get an 8-feet long bed while single cab models will get a 5-feet-7-inches long bed. The upcoming Nissan Titan Extended Cab will likely feature a bed over 6-feet long.

In addition, the new King Cab will hopefully also bring the new base engine. There are two possibilities for it. The first is Nissan's 3.5-liter V6 engine and the other is Infiniti's 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine. It is fascinating to note that the first plausible engine choice is probably not powerful enough to carry the weight of a truck whereas the Infiniti engine is quite expensive and unlikely on a base model.

In all likelihood, Digest Cars reported that the 2018 Titan Extended Cab will use Nissan's 4.0-liter VQ V6 engine used in the Frontier. This will have a higher torque output and could possibly even be available with direct fuel injection. The pickup would then be capable of both 300 horsepower and lb-ft of torque.

The 2018 Nissan Titan King Cab will likely be released this year. Hopefully, it will be impressive considering all of the pickup truck competition from other automakers.
