Everyone expected Microsoft to give at least a little bit of information on the Surface Pro 5 at the MWC 2017. Unfortunately, no teaser came and it was never even hinted at.
Microsoft Surface Pro 5 could be released with Creators Update this spring. It was initially speculated that the much awaited Pro 5 tablet would make its debut in the form of a teaser at the MWC 2017. Fans were hopeful that the tech giant would at least give subtle hints of its existence and possible release date.
Microsoft has been doing such a great job of keeping details of the Pro 5 a secret. The absence of the next-generation tablet at the Mobile World Congress have confirmed past speculations to be false but have in turn fueled new speculations which say that the Pro 5 could make its official debut together with the release of the Creators Update this coming spring.
These new speculations are allowing hype and excitement for the tablet to continue despite other speculations saying that a 2017 release is now impossible. The Redmond-based tech giant has been known to hold their own events when launching flagship devices. Given that the Pro 5 is expected to be a high-performance and powerful 2-in-1 device, fans should expect an exclusive event for its launch.
The Creators Update is expected to bring with it performance enhancements and aesthetic improvements to the Windows 10 operating system. It is only fitting that a high-performance tablet such as the Pro 5 sport the latest version of Windows 10 out-of-the-box or at least be one of the first devices that the update rolls out to.
The upcoming Creators Update will be the first major update for the operating system for the year. If the Surface Pro 5 doesn't get released along with it, the tablet could very well be released with Windows 10's second major update for release at a much later time this year which Microsoft has already confirmed. Regardless, fans should expect the Pro 5's release anytime soon given that both Surface 3 and Surface Pro 3 devices are no longer available on Microsoft Store.
