The Lamborghini Huracan Performante was recorded running as the fastest production car lap in Nurburgring earlier this week. In fact, the vehicle had been labeled as that car which looked to have impressive performance capacity. Finally, it was tested to prove that it is the fastest of its kind to date.
The Lamborghini Huracan went for a lap in full with a viewpoint from its front and passenger compartment. It ran for almost seven minutes and completed the lap five seconds faster than the reigning Porsche 918 Spyder. According to Car and Driver, the video was posted on a YouTube channel that showed the model is even faster than its brother, the Aventador. The impressive performance of the vehicle was said to be due to its active aerodynamic features and its dual-clutch transmission.
In other news, CNET reported that the supercar had lower curb weight than its standard version. However, the shifters were reviewed by Consumer Reports as unsafe and difficult to manage. However, the said company did manifest that the shifters could cause harm to the driver since it was difficult to operate and its controls were somewhat confusing. In fact, the company deducted points if the vehicle cannot return to parking mode or employ the parking brake after the engine has been turned off or after the driver opens the door while the engine is running.
Similarly, several cars had lost its credibility with respect to its performance levels due to Consumer Reports' vaunted recommendations. These vehicles include the Chrysler 300 Lexus, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, and the Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class. The former received negative feedback due to its rotary dial while the others were criticized for the shifter feature like that of the Lamborghini Huracan Performante.
Although Consumer Reports had a negative feedback on the Lamborghini Huracan model, it still finished the Nurburgring lap as the fastest production car in its tracks. Will the review affect its credibility in the automobile industry?
