Samsung’s new Galaxy Book is a Windows 10 tablet that is set to take on the Microsoft Surface Pro 4. Taking into consideration that the least expensive Surface Pro 5 model costs beyond $900, it is safe to assume that Samsung might price the Galaxy Book on the high side as well.

According to PC Advisor, Samsung has made a 10.6-inch and a 12-inch tablet to make up the Galaxy Book range. Samsung Galaxy Book is expected to ship around April, however, the price is still unknown. On the outside, the Galaxy Book comes with 2 USB-C, Micro SD reader, 13-megapixel rear camera, and 5-megapixel front camera. The rear camera can record videos in Full HD at 30 FPS. It has a 12-inch Super AMOLED Display with a resolution of 2160x1440. It has a 3.1GHz dual-core 7th-gen Intel Core i5 processor, 4GB or 8GB of RAM.

For storage, it can have either 128GB or 256GB. The Galaxy Book is equipped with a much better keyboard than the one on the TabPro S. The keys are spaced like on a laptop and helps the 2-in-1 feel like one. The 2-in-1 also comes with Samsung’s Stylus Pen.

Samsung Galaxy Book also comes with Wi-Fi and LTE. The 12-inch version with its i5 processor is more than capable machine for multitasking. At first impression, Samsung has improved the obvious flaws of the TabPro S and has produced a product that will market heavily against the upcoming Surface Pro 5.

Cnet did some comparisons of the Samsung Galaxy Book with similar products. In comparison with Lenovo Miix 510 and Acer Aspire Switch Alpha 12, the Samsung Galaxy Book has a significantly slimmer design than the rest. Also, if Samsung’s claims hold true, it should outlast its competition thanks to a 10.5-hour battery life. On the other side, the Samsung Galaxy Book doesn’t have full-size USB ports and a built-in adjustable stand.
