Will The 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon Arrive With A One-Seat Configuration & 900hp?

The upcoming Dodge Challenger Demon is scheduled to have its official reveal this April at the 2017 New York Auto Show. The industry remains in the dark as to what the car will have to offer. Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles' previous vehicle including the Chrysler Pacifica or the Alfa Romeo Giulia had specs leaked ahead of their official debut.

However, the Dodge Challenger Demon is still a mystery despite the release of its sixth teaser video. So what do various news outlets know about the special edition Challenger SRT model variant so far?

According to Motor Trend, the Dodge car will receive super-wide drag dials. This feature will have an impact on the car's performance, says the website. It will also provide larger tire contract patch, which will enable the automobile to handle higher launch torque loads.

The Demon's four P315/40R-18 Nitto NT05R drag radials are all DOT-certified. With these tires, the Demon SRT will be Dodge's first production car to be sold on drag dials.

There are no full details yet on the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon's power and specs. Dodge's only confirmed that the next vehicle would be supercharged. Information on wheels, steering, suspension, brakes, interior construction, and other hardware is vague, as of this writing.

The biggest question surrounding the Demon is the amount of power it will deliver. If the new Dodge will use the supercharged and inter-cooled version of Hemi V-8 engine from Hellcat, it might produce 815hp and torque of more than 700 lb-ft and will be faster than the Hellcat.

Two months from now, Dodge patrons will have their first glimpse of the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon in New York City. Units will start rolling out of assembly line later this year. Base price will get near the $80,000 mark. There will also be a limited production run.
