Ludacris, who plays the role of Tej in "The Fast and Furious" movie franchise, is putting up his 1987 Chevy Caprice for auction. The car is an interesting piece of cinematic history as it is one of the many that was used in the 2015 film "Furious 7."
The 1987 Chevy Caprice was listed on Mecum Actions, according to GM Authority. Based on the listing, the car has 350/330HP crate engine. It sports a set of Bassett Racing wheels, rear deck spoiler and roll bar. On the inside, it has Auto Meter gauges and stunt brakes.
For those who are a bit skeptical about the authenticity of the car, the listing shows that it has complete documentation from Universal Studios. But perhaps the most revealing feature of the car is its throwback 1980s Nascar façade.
The third-generation Chevrolet Caprice looks good as is, and will definitely be breathtaking with some added liveries. Moreover, the fact that the car was part of one of the highest grossing films of all time simply adds to its individuality.
The car was driven by Ludacris and co-star Tyrese Gibson in the seventh installment of the highly popular movie franchise, according to Road and Track. Back in 2015, in an appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel," Ludacris, revealed that each of the major cast in every "Fast and Furious" movie gets a car that was used on the set. He later added that he received the Chevy Caprice from the last "Furious 7" movie and that he is planning to restore it as the car appears to be not in a really mint condition.
Ludacris' 1987 Chevy Caprice will go on sale at the 2017 Indy auction in Indianapolis, Indiana. The auction will take place on May 16-21. The listing did not show how much the starting bid for the car will be.
