The 2017 Mobile World Congress has also become a glorious stage for the introduction futuristic cars from Mercedez-Benz, Peugeot, BMW and Robocar. The automakers have showcased their concepts of intelligent futuristic hybrid cars as listed below.
PEUGEOT. Peugeot Instinct Concept car captured many hearts when it made its debut at the 2017 MWC. The new vehicle came out very impressive with its latest technology features.
The new Peugeot Instinct Concept car boasts of its Samsung ARTIK Cloud feature. This is the latest state-of-the-art functional onboard Internet of Things (IoT) Cloud inside the new Instinct car.
This Samsung ARTIK Cloud enables the new Peugeot Instinct Concept Car to have access with the user's smart wearables or smartphone. This is actually the key to enabling the new autonomous modes of the new vehicle.
The Peugeot Instinct Concept car also boasts of its "Autonomous Soft" or "Autonomous Sharp" modes. These modes are the extra features of the Peugeot's self-driving concept which provides more comfort and speed in the driving experience.
The autonomous modes allow the vehicle to comply with the actual schedule requirements of the user. The modes will vary according to the tasks or situation that the user is engaged in. This means that the new Peugeot Instinct Concept car will adapt to the needs of the passenger such as a comfortable journey after the user's toxic activities or a faster journey if the user is rushing to an appointment.
Aside from the Samsung ARTIK Cloud, the new Instinct also features voice command via Chatbot. According to Peugeot, these latest technologies in the DNA of the new Peugeot Instinct Concept car is reportedly scheduled to hit production by 2025.
ROBOCAR. The automaker came to the 2017 MWC to introduce Roborace, the first electric racing car in the world. The new driverless race car utilizes the five lidars (using light from a laser), 18 sensors, two radars and six separate cameras.
Former Bugatti designer Daniel Simon has conceptualized the new Roborace. Daniel Simon is popular for creating designs for the vehicles used in Hollywood movie hits "Tron: Legacy" and "Oblivion."
Mercedes-Benz. The German automaker introduced the Concept EQ at the congress. The new vehicle sports a VR and COMAND Online navigation and connectivity tools similarly found in the Mercedes-Benz E Class Coupe.
The automaker also discussed its plan to introduce its so-called Connected, Autonomous, Shared and Service and Electric Drive "CASE" strategy for ride-sharing electric mobile, autonomous driving and the upcoming vehicles. This is Mercedes-Benz' latest corporate strategy created to incorporate all the mega-trends for future cars.
Mercedes-Benz has figured the most significant and urgent changes necessary for future cars. According to the automaker, it is extremely necessary to transition from fossil fuels to better environment-friendly methods of propulsion. Furthermore, it is also aimed to change from driving to being driven.
BMW. The BMW Group discussed the potentials of intelligent driver-car connectivity. The company aims to provide BMW Connected service to allow the drivers to be in touch and gain full control of hybrid cars through connecting with their smart devices.
This BMW Connected service is powered up by the Open Mobility Cloud, based on Microsoft Azure. The Open Mobility Cloud is the one that processes information even from various sources and provides the driver the accurate data on real time scenario.
The BMW Connected service can be integrated with devices such as Apple Watch, Amazon Echo, Samsung Gear (S2 and S3) and all other smartphones running iOS or Android, Deccan Chronicle reported.
