The CBS All Access series 'Star Trek: Discovery' was initially expected to debut last month then got pushed back to May. It has once again been pushed back but this time to an indefinite date in the future.

CBS All Access series 'Star Trek: Discovery' release date delayed once again. The premiere of the latest entry to the celebrate science fiction franchise got pushed back again to a currently unknown date. It could possibly be released in late summer of this year but nothing is for sure at this point.

CBS CEO Les Moonves told investors at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media and Technology Conference on Monday that the series could arrive sometime later this year. Moonves said, "Late summer, early fall we're looking at probably right now...We're not going to rush it in... There's a lot of post production. But I'm very confident from what I've seen so far."

Last month, when the series was supposed to debut, CBS said, "This is an ambitious project; we will be flexible on a launch date if it's best for the show." The company further added that it has always thought of doing the project right than fast.

Star Trek: Discovery is a highly anticipated science fiction series by Bryan Fuller and Alex Kurtzman. It is set a decade before the original TV series and is separate from the timeline established in the feature films. It stars Sonequa Martin-Green, Anthony Rapp, James Frain, Doug Jones, Maulik Pancholy, Sam Vartholomeos, and Terry Serpico. The series' showrunners are Gretchen J. Berg and Aaron Harberts with Akiva Goldsman as the producer.

The upcoming science fiction series will be the first to air on the CBS All Access streaming service. However, it has been said that it will make its debut on CBS before moving to the company's on-demand video streaming service.
