Insanely affordable laptops are currently on the rise. With Chromebooks leading the pack, tech giant Lenovo is also eager to cut a segment for itself with the recent launch of the Lenovo Miix 320, a Windows laptop which only costs $199.

The Lenovo Miix 320 was unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The 2-in-1 detachable laptop is expected to hit the market in April, with a pen-enabled model also coming in July.

Unlike currently available Chromebooks in the market, the Lenovo Miix 320's form factor is what separates it from most competitors. The Miix has a magnetic joint that easily joins or detaches the display and the keyboard.

Sporting a 10.1-inch display, the Lenovo Miix 320 can be easily passed on as a tablet. It is also lightweight. The display is a bit small compared to conventional Chromebooks which sport an 11-inch display, but the Miix's display supports 1920x1200 resolution which looks fine compared to the 1366x768 resolution of larger Chromebook displays, according to PC World.

Despite the interesting design and portability of the Lenovo Miix 320, the laptop lags behind its competitors when it comes to hardware specs. The Miix 320 has a rather outdated Atom X5 Cherry Trail processor. It is not a fancy piece of hardware, but it should be decent enough to handle web-browsing and non-intensive applications.

Having an Atom processor also means power efficiency. According to CNet, the Lenovo Miix 320 is rated to last up to 10 hours on a full charge. Backing up the Atom processor is 4GB of memory and 128GB of eMMC storage.

In terms of connectivity, the Miix 320 supports 801.11ac Wi-Fi and an optional LTE, which adds to the base cost. The laptop also packs a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, and a 2-megapixel front facing sensor. The Lenovo Miix 320 is expected to pick a price tag of $199.
