PlayStation VR has been highly successful since its official release late last year. It is easy to understand why the VR headset is still considered the best to have for 2017, beating HTC Vive and Oculus Rift, according to experts. Sure, it had hiccups and bad reviews early this year, but end of the day, it is still the best option out of the big three in headsets.
According to Trusted Reviews, there are some different sides to the PlayStation VR. There are relatively insane amazing features, however, there are also downside to it that may be considered annoying by VR headset users, especially for the seasoned ones. First timers may not even notice its misgivings as they are more likely to immediately get excited playing games on VR, but VR headset experts and fanatics are completely different story.
PlayStation VR's setup process is trickier than expected according to the review. The whole process took grueling 30 minutes to finish as it involved several steps that may be challenging to most. Unless a gamer is insanely good in following the most intricate of instructions, challenge in setting up may well be experienced.
Now comes the good part, the Sony VR headset is completely different compared to Oculus Rift and HTC Vive in terms of design and comfort. Everything about the design of PSVR is attractive and well thought out. It has sleek white edging, black fascia, and futuristic lights which allows for motion tracking. It also doesn't fasten with Velcro, but instead, it will adjust by pressing on a button at the back of the headset to extend the plastic band and it automatically does its magic for a snug fit.
Among the big three (PSVR, Oculus Rift and HTC Vive), the PlayStation VR has the lowest in display quality. However, this is only based on paper as the difference is not even noticeable once playing any VR games. In specs, it is the underdog, but when in use, it still delivers. That's the most important thing to take note of.
The most important aspect is that the PlayStation VR is significantly more affordable than the other two. It is stunning and attractive. Most importantly, it delivers, providing gamers the VR experience they deserve to experience.
As added by Tech Radar, for a system that uses PS4 instead of an expensive PC gaming rig, there are no complaints at all comapared to HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. There is also good selection of games that are supported by the PlayStation VR. Upon testing, games like "Batman: Arkham VR," "Job Simulator," "Wayward Sky," and "Until Dawn: Rush of Blood" all performed well using PSVR. See if the video agrees with most of the experts.
