Great news, Ford revealed the all-new 2018 Ford Fiesta ST hot hatch. It is set to debut at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show next month.
The 2018 Ford Fiesta ST is said to be based on the upcoming seventh-generation version of the supermini. It will headline the Geneva Motor Show for the company.
It will come equipped with an all-new engine configuration. A lighter aluminum 1.5-liter three-cylinder turbo engine will replace the older 1.6-liter four-cylinder turbo.
The new engine will help the 2018 Fiesta lighter and more efficient. It produces 197 brake horsepower. That is 17 brake horsepower more than what the current Fiesta ST can produce.
Regarding the 'overboost' figure, on the other hand, both the 2018 Fiesta and the current model are equals. As for the torque, the new model can produce up to 290Nm.
According to Ford, the 2018 Ford Fiesta ST can go from 0-62 miles per hour in just 6.7 seconds. That feat is two-tenths quicker than the current model. The 140 miles per hour top speed doesn't sound to shabby, as well.
The CO2 emissions for the new model will also be downsized from 138g/km to 114g/km. With that and the new cylinder deactivation technology onboard, the fuel economy is expected to improve, too.
Buyers will have the option to choose from a three-door and five-door body styles. The exterior is somewhat similar to the standard Fiesta in ST-line trim, only with a slightly more aggressive front bumper and grille.
It will also come with a painted diffuser and exclusive 18-inch alloy wheels. There will also be a new paint color option, the Liquid Blue.
According to Ford, interior styling packs will be available, allowing new levels of personalisation than ever before. The 2018 Ford Fiesta will also offer alternative trim and finishes on items around the cockpit.
It will be equipped with the new Sync 3 infotainment system with touchscreen displays up to 8-inches in size. Recaro sports seats with side bolsters and a flat-bottomed sports steering wheel are also one of the car's signature.
The 2018 Ford Fiesta ST will debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month. However, Ford won't be launching the new Fiesta ST until early 2018.
